CODE, R.S.O. 1970, C.318, AS AMENDED 



AND IN THE MATTER OF THE COMPLAINT MADE BY 
MR. ARNOLD PENK OF WILLOWDALE, ONTARIO, 
ALLEGING DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT BY 
NORTHTOWN FORD SALES, 5444 YONGE STREET, 
WILLOWDALE, ONTARIO 



MINUTES OF SETTLEMENT 

THE PARTIES HERETO HEREBY AGREE to the settlement of 
this complaint upon the following terms: 

1. HOJ INDUSTRIES LTD., will write a letter of assurance 
to the Ontario Human Rights Commission, undertaking forthwith 
to abide in the future with the provisions and standards of 
the Ontario Human Rights Code. A precedent of the said letter 
of assurance is attached hereto as Shedule "A" . 

2. HOJ INDUSTRIES LTD., will post in a prominent place 
in the premises of the business carried on by it under the name 
and style "Northtown Ford Sales" the "Declaration of Management 
Policy of the Ontario Human Rights Commission", a copy of which 
is annexed hereto as Schedule "B" . 

3. HOJ INDUSTRIES LTD., will pay to ARNOLD PENK, without

admission of liability the sum of $2,500.00.

Further to our discussions with Mr. Goldenberg, this letter is to 
assure you that our firm supports the aims and principles of the 
Ontario Human Rights Code and that we do not discriminate against 
any person because of race, col our, creed, age, sex, marital status, 
nationality, ancestry and place of origin. 

V/e regret any misunderstanding which may have occurred with respect 

to the above-cited matter and in order to show our good faith, we 

have written Mr. Pehk to this effect. We also agree to post the 

Commission's Declaration of Management Policy in a prominent place in 

the premises of the business we carry on under the name and style of 

Northtown Ford Sales at 5444 Yonge Street, Willowdale, Ontario. 

We trust the above constitutes a satisfactory resolution of the 
complaint .
